Huge storm heading towards China

Waves pound the coast in Taiwan

A huge storm heading towards China in Asia has forced almost a million people to leave their homes.

Officials have sent eight million text messages to mobile phones, warning people that Typhoon Morakot is moving towards the south-east of the country.

Morakot has already caused severe flooding in nearby Taiwan, where it dumped 200cm rain in a matter of hours.

At least person died and 29 are missing after worst storm to hit the country in more than 50 years.

Flooding caused a hotel in the south of Taiwan to collapse, after rising water is thought to have caused the foundations of the building to become unstable.

It's thought everyone managed to get out of the hotel before it collapsed.

Typhoons happen in that region of the world between July and September.
