Adlabs Films, recently rechristened as Reliance MediaWorks, has announced that the Big Cinemas chains have been split into two geography-based strategic business units.
The reorganization of the cinema chain has been done so that the regional markers could be given more focus during its expansion spree. This was disclosed during a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Big Cinemas would focus on the company's operations in North, East and Central India.
Big Cinemas will have 100 more screens across the world by next year. This step is being adopted by the Reliacne MediaWorks so that the 35 million customers across the world can be satisfied with its services.
Reliance MediaWorks has a global footprint with 459 screens across India, US, Netherlands and Malaysia.
"Big Cinemas network is expanding across the country and we are putting in place a core team of leaders to drive the strategy and further augment the company's ability to serve our customers better," Reliance MediaWorks CEO Anil Arjun said.
Ashish Saksena will be the chief operating officer for Big Cinemas for West and South India.
