Tech Mahindra bags Rs.2000 Crore Etisalat deal

Mumbai: Software outsourcer Tech Mahindra will provide telecom operator Etisalat DB with IT solutions and infrastructure requirements for its proposed services rollout in 15 telecom circles, it was announced here Monday.

The contract, valued at Rs.2,000 crore or $400 million, is valid for 10 years, Etisalat DB, earlier known as Swan Telecom, said in a statement.


"Tech Mahindra has the required domain and process expertise with a proven track record as part of Etisalat's launch of operations in Egypt," an Etisalat spokesperson said.

"We are confident that Tech Mahindra's exhaustive pool of IT skills and innovative delivery models will assist us in the forthcoming rollout of services in India and delivering the best services and customer experience in the market."

Etisalat DB Telecom is a joint venture between UAE-based Etisalat and Mumbai's Dynamix Balwas group with interest in real estate, hospitality, construction materials, dairy, education and now telecom.

The company has the unified services access license for 15 circles enabling it offer mobile telephony, Internet service as well as fixed line telecom service.
