IOC board to consider issue of bonus shares

A meeting of the board of directors of the Indian Oil Corporation (Q,N,C,F)* (IOC) will be held on Sept. 13, 2009 to consider issue of bonus shares, subject to the approval of the shareholders.

IOC owns and operates 10 of India`s 18 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 54.20 million tonnes per annum (1 million barrels per day). These include two refineries of subsidiary Chennai petroleum corp. and one of Bongaigaon refinery and petrochemicals. Indian Oil owns and operates the country`s largest network of cross-country crude oil and product pipelines spanning nearly 9,000 kmss with a combined capacity of 60.42 MMTPA.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2.4, or 0.39%, to settle at Rs 616.95. The total volume of shares traded was 97,873.00 at the BSE (Friday).
