MUMBAI: Crude oil prices
was higher Friday ahead of US jobs report. The US crude for October delivery was at $68.10 per barrel and London Brent
crude rose to $67.22 a barrel.

The Indian rupee opened flat. At 9:03 am, the partially convertible rupee was at 48.92 compared with previous close of 48.92.

Steel Authority of India’s domestic sales in August rose 20 per cent to 1.1 million from a year ago, on the back of a 30 per cent jump in sales of special steels. The company has raised prices on flat products by Rs 1,500 a tonne from beginning September.
Bharat Heavy Electricals expects to tie up orders worth about $2.5 billion in the next 4-6 weeks as private firms step up investment in the power sector.

The country’s foreign investment regulator has rejected a plea by Zenotech Laboratories seeking the withdrawal of its earlier ruling that allowed Japanese drugmaker Daiichi Sankyo to acquire a 20% stake in the open offer in the Hyderabad-based firm.

Amtek Auto is raising $175 million by way issuance of foreign currency convertible bonds which would be listed Singapore Stock Exchange. The issue will open today.

Ramco Industries has fixed September 15 as the record date for the purpose of sub-division of shares of face value Rs 10 into 10 Equity Shares of Re 1 each. The company will also issue bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1.
